"Everyone is walking around with a TV in their pocket – and that time-burning question on their lips: ‘What should I stream today?’ said Stacy Jolna, Clix Founder and CMO and recognized industry disrupter who was on the original executive team that launched media disruptor TiVo. The company has a strong global audience as well with about half of new user traffic derived from entertainment centric young audiences such as users from India, the Middle East, Asia, and Western Europe. "Our users know Clix is allied with top streamers to make it easier to find the best of what to watch."Ĭlix’s 12 million registered users are growing by nearly 800,000 U.S.-based users monthly, according to Google Analytics. "Our consumers, especially millennials and Gen Z, expect to get their information about what-to-watch instantaneously – anytime, anywhere in this ever-shifting landscape," said Ed Sullivan, Clix Founder and CEO. According to Google Analytics, Clix users are migrating to mobile en masse to first discover their top entertainment choices prior to watching on any screen and platform. 1 The nearly exclusive mobile behavior targeting "what-to-watch" consumer demand in a sea of streaming content represents an industry first. LOS ANGELES, December 16, 2022-( BUSINESS WIRE)-Clix, the fast-growing digital "guidance guru" for streaming movies, series and Clix’ original content reports that 99 percent of its 12 million global audience are watching via mobile phones and tablets. Despite Clix going out of his way to disguise Zayn, the Fortnite Pro should have only received a 3-day ban like his counterpart.Targeting Gen Z and Millennials With Top Series & Movies Not being able to stream the performance would without a doubt harm his overall Twitch revenue. He made an incredible showing of taking third in Week Two. Clix renamed Zayn, which is as bad as muting, if not worse.įor Cody “Clix” Conrod, being banned until November 18th means he can’t stream his Week 3 of the Fortnite Solo Cup League. He muted Zayn but it was too little, too late. In Khanada’s case, his audience informed him that he was breaking the rules and was likely to get a banhammer for his efforts. Hell, “don’t bring banned streamers on your stream” should be common sense. Not reading your TOS is no excuse for breaking a rule. But streamers with massive followings, be it on Twitch or on social media should really know the rules. There is nothing wrong with playing with a banned streamer in your own personal time. Clix could have been warned by Twitch in the past to not have a banned streamer on, but it’s unlikely. Unfortunately, we don’t know the whole story. Clix has vowed to fight the ban and get back on Twitch as soon as possible. Since I seriously doubt that’s the case, the week-long ban is a serious overreach. If there is evidence of the two conspiring to keep Zayn on Twitch, the longer ban makes sense. The three-day ban makes sense, provided it was a first offense, and it doesn’t happen again.īanned for 3 days when I had Zayn muted ggs- Reformed Khanada November 8, 2019Ĭlix was banned for seven days though, despite having the same streamer and same precautions. Khanada received a three-day ban for having Zayn on their stream, despite having him muted. This isn’t the first streamer to be punished for having Zayn on their livestream. It’s a perma-ban for getting around a previous punishment. Zayn’s ban isn’t a temporary ban, either. How does get a 3day and i get a 7day? WTF- Clix November 12, 2019Įven if they’re muted, hidden, or their name is blurred out somehow, banned is banned. Nice got a 7day ban for having zayn in my stream… I had him muted, changed his nickname. If a player has been banned, they are not allowed to be featured or take part in someone else’s stream. However, one very important rule on Twitch is on the topic of banned players. Cody “ Clix” Conrod is a streamer for Misfits Gaming and a professional Fortnite player. Why Was He Banned?įortnite streamer Clix received a seven-day ban for having Zayn in his stream, despite taking precautions to hide him. This is one of the few that is sure to get you banned. Twitch is known to be pretty inconsistent with most of the enforcement of its rules. With that, Clix was banned for a week on Twitch. Despite taking precautions to hide his name/mute him, the law is the law. This is the second time in recent memory that a Fortnite player has had banned streamer “Zayn” on. The law of Twitch is clear, and they do not appreciate people going out of their way to break it. By Jason Parker in Entertainment | Nov, 12th 2019
